Special Programs

Broadway Company and Broadway Company II are pre-professional musical theatre programs. Broadway Company is for committed students who are considering a collegiate program or future in musical theatre. Students study dance, voice and acting technique, and select and rehearse songs, monologues, and other appropriate audition material. The Broadway Company performs in special productions and represents TexARTS at public performances around the community. Admission to Broadway Company and Broadway Company II is by audition only.

The Musical Theatre Academy is a performance-oriented workshop offering options for both youth and teens. Students meet weekly and learn dance choreography, study voice and acting, and learn a repertoire leading up to a pre-professional performance. TexARTS suggests that technique classes are taken in addition to MTA. The Fall MTA Session runs September-January and the Spring MTA Session runs February-May.

Saturday Youth Ballet Theatre is a performance-oriented workshop. Students meet weekly and learn ballet choreography leading up to a pre-professional performance. TexARTS suggests that technique classes are taken in addition to Youth Ballet Theatre. The fall production of "The Nutcracker" rehearses September-December with a performance in December.
