Robert Armitage
(Producing Artistic Director) Robert Armitage started dancing at age 5 and moved to New York City at the age of 19. He began his career in theater as a Broadway performer and eventually transitioned into management position, giving him a unique perspective of theatre industry, its culture and management. His experience includes a total of eight Broadway shows and four national tours. He has performed on Broadway in Victor/Victoria, Disney’s AIDA (Original Company), Contact The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie and 1st national tours of Victor/Victoria and AIDA. Other performing credits include City Center’s Encore Series A Connecticut Yankee, Lincoln Center Theatre, Radio City Music Hall Christmas and Spring Spectacular, Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and in regional theatre productions at Goodspeed Opera House, Houston Theatre Under The Stars, Gateway Playhouse, Candlewood Playhouse, Player Theatre Columbus, Riverside Theatre and Hampton Playhouse. Robby retired from performing in 2005. His final performance was in the feature film version of The Producers directed by Susan Stroman and Mel Brooks. After retiring, Robby’s career transitioned into Stage Management and Producing. His management credits include Broadway: Disney’s Tarzan, Disney’s The Little Mermaid and All Shook Up and the National tours of Disney’s The Lion King (Gazelle and Cheetah Companies). He has worked with many Tony Award winning Directors and Choreographers Hal Prince, Susan Stroman, Rob Marshall, Andy Blankenbuehler, Sergio Trujillo, Casey Nicholaw, Rob Ashford and Wayne Cilento to name a few. He was also privileged to have performed with Julie Andrews, Liza Minelli, Chita Rivera, Tys Diorio, Joey Dowling, R.J. Durrell and Kristen Chenoweth.
