Dress Code
Students should wear street shoes and a cover up over dance clothes to and from TexARTS. Parents, please write the student’s name on all belongings. TexARTS is not responsible for items left on the premises. Students must wear appropriate attire (including shoes and hair) to each class. Instructors reserve the right to ask a student to observe class if they choose not to follow dress code.
ACTING CLASSES Comfortable clothing that allows movement. No shorts or skirts. Clearly labeled notebook, folder, and pencil should be brought weekly.
VOICE CLASSES Comfortable clothing that allows movement. No shorts or skirts. Clearly labeled notebook, folder, pencil, and recorder should be brought weekly.
ART CLASSES Comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes you don’t mind getting messy.
MUSICAL THEATRE ACADEMY Please follow Musical Theatre Dance & Jazz dress code (see below). Girls ages 12+ should have black character heels (Bloch SFX Split Flex 2.5-S0390L).
Dance Classes
Creative Movement (Ages 2-5): Any color leotard, pink tights, skirt/tutu (optional), pink ballet slippers (leather or canvas), hair pulled neatly away from face. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black jazz pants, and black ballet slippers.
Ballet/Tap (Ages 3-6 ): Any color leotard, pink footed tights, skirt/tutu (optional), pink ballet slippers (leather or canvas), black velcro tap shoes, hair pulled neatly away from face. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black jazz pants, black ballet slippers, black tap shoes.
Broadway Kids (Ages 5-6): Black leotard, black jazz pants, black leather slip-on split-sole jazz shoes, hair pulled neatly away from face. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black jazz pants, black jazz shoes.
Pre Ballet (Ages 5-6): Light pink leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet slippers (leather or canvas), hair pulled neatly away from face in bun. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black tights, black ballet slippers.
Ballet (Ages 7+): Black leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet slippers (leather or canvas), pink pointe shoes (if applicable), hair pulled neatly away from face in bun. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black tights, black ballet slippers.
Musical Theatre Dance & Jazz: Black leotard, black jazz pants, black leather slip-on split-sole jazz shoes, hair pulled neatly away from face. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black jazz pants, black socks, and black leather slip-on split-sole jazz shoes.
Tap: Black leotard, black jazz pants, black tap shoes, hair pulled neatly away from face. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black jazz pants, black socks, and black tap shoes.
Hip Hop: Comfortable clothing that allows movement (jazz pants, leotards, sweats, etc.) with black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers. No jeans, shorts, or street shoes including tennis shoes and sneakers.
Broadway Company & Broadway Company II: Royal blue leotard and tan convertible tights or black jazz pants, depending on class. Broadway Company girls ages 12 and up should also have black character heels (Bloch SFX Split Flex 2.5-S0390L).
