Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical comes to life on the TexARTS stage! Basketball star Troy and brainy Gabriella meet over winter break at a New Years Eve party where they get roped into singing karaoke with each other. They exchange numbers and go their separate ways.
Troy returns to East High in New Mexico, where he is captain of the basketball team, and finds that Gabriella has transferred to his school over the break! Gabriella joins East High's academic team and turns into a key member. Troy and Gabriella happen upon the audition notice to the school musical and decide to attend, but upon arrival are too shy to go through with their plans.
When Ms Darbus, the administrator of the auditions, overhears Troy and Gabriella singing a duet, she offers them each a callback. This enrages Sharpay, East High's Drama Club President, who is not interested in having any competition for the leading role.
In an attempt at keeping the couple away from the callback and focused on what more "important" matters, Troy's friends work out a plan to keep the two away from each other and from the show.
Will Gabriella forgive Troy, and will Troy forgive his friends? Will the pair make it into the callback or even have a chance to be cast in the show? Come find out at High School Musical - a show about being true to yourself and following your dreams.
