TexARTS Summer Camps, Mini Camps and Summer Intensives

Legally Blonde - Musical Theatre Intensive

M-F, June 4-21. Performances June 22-24. Ages 8-10 half day (9am-1pm), 8-18 full day (9am-5pm) This three-week intensive offers classes Monday - Friday for performers of all levels. The students will take masterclasses in acting, singing and dance taught by TexARTS' professional faculty and special guest artists from Broadway and Film.
Students will perform the musical LEGALLY BLONDE. Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out to go where no Deltua Nu has gone before: Harvard Law! Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.


Half and Full Day Camps

Ages 5-12. Half day 9am-1pm, full day 9am-5pm. Join us for singing, dancing, acting and crafts Broadway style! An informal performance based on the camp's theme will be held on Friday each week. Full day delves deeper into each genre and introduces new topics such as audition techniques, prop building, costuming and more!

Visual Arts Camp (half day) June 25-29 & July 16-20
Visual Art camps provide a fun and fascinating way to explore various artistic styles through drawing, painting and other techniques. Students will be introduced to the styles of 20th centure artists as well as old masters. An art show will be presented on Friday each week!

Best of "The Sound of Music" (half and full day) June 25-29
The hills will come alive as students learn and perform all their favorite songs from everyone's favorite classic musical! From "Do, Re, Mi" to "My Favorite Things," students will dance and sing their summer away!

Best of "Annie" (half and full day) July 9-13
A quick glimpse into the "Hard Knock Life" of little orphan Annie! Students will learn those classically irresistible tunes such as "Tomorrow" and "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile."

TexARTS Glee (half and full day) July 30-August 3
The Glee craze comes to TexARTS as students perform a mix of contemporary chart hits and show tunes! A look into the high school world of Rachael, Finn, Kurt and the rest!

Mini Camps

Ages 2-5. 9am-11:30am. Summer Mini Camps are an exciting introduction to musical theatre for young dancers, singers and actors! Each session has a theme and culminates in weekly informal performances for family and friends.

Dance Camp

August 13-17 1pm-5pm. Ages 7-18. The one-week intensive focuses on dance and strengthening students' technique. The program offers classes Monday-Friday for dancers of all levels. Students will be exposed to all forms of dance with classes in tap, jazz, musical theatre, ballet, modern, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. These classes will be taught by TexARTS' professional faculty and professional guest instructors from around the country.

Swan Lake - Youth Ballet Intensive

M-F July 9-26, 12pm-5pm. Performances July 27-29. Ages 7-18.
This three-week intensive offers classes Monday - Friday for dancers of all levels.
Programming includes daily ballet technique, pre-pointe and pointe classes and classes with guest artists from all over the country specializing in character dance, yoga, Pilates, modern, conditioning, nutrition and injury prevention.
Students will perform the classic ballet SWAN LAKE. The Story of Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky's greatest ballet score, is the tale of a prince who falls in love with a beautiful princess. The princess, however, is turned into a swan by an evil magician, and only the prince's love can break the spell!
