Keenah Armitage

(Musical Theatre & Tap) Keenah Armitage, formerly known as Keenah Reid, has over 12 years of professional performing experience. Credits include: The Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular, The Radio City Music Hall's Spring Spectacular. Broadway: On The Town, Jesus Christ Superstar and Aida. National tours: The 1st national tour of Aida and the national revival of Dreamgirls. Keenah has also toured with The Will Rogers Follies and The Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum starring tony nominated Michael McGrath. Keenah has worked along side such stars as Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Heather Headley, Larry Gatlin, Adam Pascal, Taylor Dayne, Sheri Renee Scott, BJ Crosby, Lea Delaria, and Mary Testa to name a few. She has been honored to work with some of the best Broadway theatre directors and choreographers including George C. Wolfe, Robert Falls, Jerry Mitchell, Wayne Cilento, Anthony Van Laast, Linda Haberman, Robert Longbottom, Joey McNeely, and Sergio Trujillo. A graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.C., with a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Merchandising, and a double minor in Business, and Dance Performance, Armitage was awarded a full scholarship to Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, located in New York, NY. In addition to her academic and Broadway achievements, Keenah has developed performance art curricula for studios, conservatory, higher education, and after-school art programs for inner city children. Keenah is thrilled to be a part of the TexArts faculty.
