Austin Kimble

Austin Kimble is an Austin-based pianist, trumpeter, musical director, conductor, educator, composer, and arranger whose career has spanned the worlds of musical theatre, jazz, classical, and pop music. Whether performing with world-renowned musicians, conducting pit orchestras and jazz ensembles, or performing his own compositions, he is known for his versatility, creativity, and brilliant musicianship. Mr. Kimble teaches a multitude of music classes at schools in the Central Texas area and also teaches a full studio of private students.

He is the 2015 recipient of the BroadwayWorld Austin Award for “Best Musical Direction.” Musical direction credits include: Shrek the Musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Damn Yankees, Tarzan, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Rock of Ages, School of Rock, The Wizard of Oz, Seussical the Musical, The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, Annie, and We Will Rock You. He holds a bachelor’s of music degree in jazz piano performance from UT Austin and performs regularly with the Austin Kimble Trio, The Kimbles, JazzBonez, and the Jazz Inc. Big Band.

Austin Kimble has performed in Tokyo, Paris, Shanghai, New York, New Orleans, and the list goes on. In Texas, he’s performed all over Austin, including KXAN TV, KVUE TV, News 8 Austin, KLBJ radio, KOOP radio, KUT radio, KUTX radio, Austin Music Hall, Frank Erwin Center, Elephant Room, Brass House, Speakeasy, Dizzy Rooster, One World Theatre, Antone’s, Belmont, Waterloo, Stephan F Austin Hotel, Four Seasons, Downtown Hilton, Iron Cactus Austin, Lambert’s, and Hickory Street Cafe.

Mr. Kimble is deeply committed to engaging and inspiring young performers through an education in vocal techniques, music theory, style, discipline, performance etiquette, and overall musicianship.
