Jonathan Young


Jonathan is an Equity actor and director who received his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting from Brandeis University in Boston and received his BA in Directing at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is certified in hand-to-hand, knife, and rapier combat through the Society of American Fight Directors and trained in Improv at the Upright Citizens’ Brigade in New York City. While at Brandeis, Jonathan taught undergraduate courses in Improv, Directing, and Suzuki Actor Training. He also served as the Directing Supervisor for all undergraduate-directed shows at Brandeis.

As an actor, Jonathan has performed around the country for theatres including the Berskshire Theatre Festival, New York Theatre Alliance, and the Candlelight Pavilion in Los Angeles. He has toured with American Family Theatre, the National Theatre for Children, and New York Dinner Theatre. On television, he has appeared on shows including Blue Bloods, 30 Rock, and MTV’s Girl Code. He currently has commercial spots running for Ritz Crackers and the CBS Sports Network. His work as a voice over artist can be heard on films and on narrations for titles available for sale on Audible, iTunes, and Amazon.

Around New York City, Jonathan has performed at various theatres including the Abingdon Main Stage, The Players Theatre, and the Looking Glass Theatre. For his role in the original play “Curiosity” performed at the Players’ Theatre, Jonathan won the Audience Favorite Award. For his role in the original play “The Life and Death of Joshua Zweig” at the Looking Glass Theatre, Jonathan won the Winter Forum Award for Best Actor.
