Youth Musical Theatre Academy
Fall 2018 Production

Saturday Musical Theatre Academy is a performance-oriented workshop. Students meet every Saturday and learn dance choreography, study voice and acting, and learn a repertoire leading up to a pre-professional performance.

Placement Audition Information

Placement Auditions: Saturday, September 8; 10AM-1PM. Students must be registered in order to audition.
Rehearsals: Saturdays 10AM-1PM and some Fridays 4:30PM-6:30PM
Performances: January 12-13 and 19-20

In Disney’s The Lion King Jr the African savannah comes to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle… and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale..

TexARTS Musical Theatre productions are fully costumed and perform on the TexARTS Kam and James Morris Theatre.stage.  Although Auditions are required to join the cast, every student is placed in the production.  TexARTS double casts all youth productions, giving multiple performance opportunities for the students.  Students will perform in both Cast A and Cast B.  The TexARTS youth musical theatre program is a wonderful way to start learning performance skills, yet also great for experienced youth.

Auditions are Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10AM – 1PM

January 10-11: Cast A – Tech & Dress Rehearsal – TIME TBD
January 12-13: Cast A – Performs Saturday 2PM & 6PM; Sunday 2PM
January 17-18: Cast B – Tech & Dress Rehearsal – TIME TBD
January 19-20: Cast B – Performs Saturday 2PM & 6PM; Sunday 2PM
