TexARTS Triple Threat (T-3) Mentor

Lauren is originally from San Antonio, Texas. She started singing, dancing, and acting in middle school when she discovered her passion for the arts. From a young age, she began her triple threat training in San Antonio and primarily in New York City. She has studied in all styles of dance, as well as voice. She has trained in dance with Randy Skinner, Ray Hesselink, Michelle Dorrance, Shea Sullivan, Billy Griffin, Ricky Hinds, Bob Richards, Debbie Roshe, Heather Rigg, Sarah Paul, and more. She has trained in voice/acting with Matt Farnsworth, Dan Thaler, Nancy Opel, Donald Braswell and more. She continues training even to this day to keep up her skills as a triple threat performer. Lauren has worked as a lead singer/dancer for Six Flags Fiesta Texas over numerous years. She originated the lead singer/dancer at SeaWorld San Antonio as Jessie in Elmo Rocks! and their Christmas Glee show, The Peppermints. Other

Performance Credits include: Peggy Sawyer in 42 ND STREET (Ocean State Theatre Company), Patsy in Crazy For You (Riverside Theatre), Katty/Dance Captain in The Love Note Musical (Off-Broadway NYC), Sharpay Evans/Dance Captain in High School Musical 2 (Woodlawn Theatre), Guest Artist on SYTYCD/X-Factor/PULSE with Dorrance Dance. Lauren made her debut at TexARTS in their production of “The Marvelous Wonderettes” where she played the role of Suzy. She recently just finished up playing Angel in TexARTS’ “The Best Little Wh*rehouse in Texas.” She has also been a lead singer and vocal captain for Carnival Cruise Lines. She has not only dabbled in the Theater world, but in the television and film world as well. Lauren can be seen Nationwide as a model in the University of Texas at Austin commercial as a brand ambassador. She was the first model for Rack Room Shoes’ Real People Project.

While she loves performing, she is also passionate about teaching the younger generations of upcoming triple threats. She has taught dance at Studio 10 Dance Center for Pat Holbrook in San Antonio, Texas, Dance Institute in Austin, TX, and she is currently a teaching assistant at the University of Texas at Austin in the school of Theatre and Dance.

Lauren is a senior Broadcast Journalism major, with a complete minor in Theatre and Dance, at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a two-time titleholder in the Miss America Organization, and currently holds the title of Miss Austin 2017. She enjoys swing dancing and country dancing in her free time, as well as coaching a swim team with the Speedo Summer Swim League. She is thrilled and couldn’t be more excited to be teaching at TexARTS.
